TWO more weeks to my holiday!

Yesterday was a rather busy Saturday at work. We had more than 160 customers between me and another shop girl..so it was pretty intense and of course, most of them came in the first half of the day. Jin showed me a great photo of a boat house in Matilda Bay a few days ago and suddenly I felt like doing just that yesterday evening :) So after an unexpected home delivery to an dear old customer after work, went home, get changed and rushed down the freeway to Matilda Bay.

Well, first there were a couple taking wedding photos on the jetty to the boat house...so we waited...then suddenly appeared this rather fat photographer (wish he read my blog) trying to take a photo of the boat house too! (see photo) Gee...got to be a bloody popular spot for both amateurs and professionals alike! So we waited and waited...and he just won't budge! I really felt like giving his ass a little kick after standing there for more than half an hour! When we left about an hour later, guess what?!..he was still there on the same spot!

Jin nearly finished painting her "shabby chick" shelf for pots...it is looking good :) Hey Wayne, remember those flat square pots that we saw in Bunning on last Friday? I went and got one this afternoon with a pack coriander seeds. I hope they grow in whatever potting mix that I bought the other day!

Not so productive weekend - is that unusual?

Last Friday night, we went to brother's house to babysit their 2 children..but we ended up bringing them to a chinese association/club in Karrinyup for a 3 hours badminton/exercise. Tell you what, I am paying the price of not having regular exercise, every muscles in my legs are killing me!

Dimsum...yes...haven't been to one for a long long time. I think we ordered the wrong stuff...it wasn't as good as I imagine..but I managed to take a few pictures...yea...testing the IS function of my lens...photos turned up great with minimal blurring even on a 1s exposure!

Dust dust dust!! It's probably the greatest enemy of most dSLR photographers. This is not the first time I have dust on my Canon's sensor, I have had something like a small hair on it before but this morning, I found one recalcitrant dust on my sensor that just refused to budge with my blower. Took me a while but finally, I managed to get rid of it by using Jin's watercolor brush :) On my last test, I am totally dust-free! (visible anyway)

Today, we are just finishing off our long overdued pot plants shelf that I started couple weeks ago. Jin will be in charge of painting after all the screws are in place :)

I am totally buggered...just can't wait for my one week break in this coming mid of May...at the meanwhile, looking forward to the Anzac day :)

Finally 300

I supposed to watch the movie 300 last Tuesday but couldn't make it because I was suddenly down with a bad sore throat and a stuffed up nose. Well, after reading mixed reviews and what Waynus has told me, I didn't go to the movie with much expectation. Surprise, surprise...it was one of the most exciting "war" movie I have ever come across. Despite full of computer generated graphics, the movie was actually rather "artistic" and quite original I thought. The use of slow motion and real time effects was nothing short of fascinating. The use of colour to depict the mood of the scene was well carried out. If you want to see a work of art, a masterpiece in modern movie-making and an amazing tale of sacrifice and unparallel comradery, you should not miss this movie! PREPARE FOR GLORY!!

Mr Bean's Holiday

We went to watch the Mr. Bean's holiday with my brother's family last night at Hoyts. Well, it wasn't as bad as some of those reviews on the net said. If you haven't watch it and are going to, please bear in mind that this movie is intended for children, so it might lack some sofistications but so what?! As a matter of fact, I truely found myself laughing my heart out at some scenes, in particular, where Mr Bean was trying to keep himself awake while driving to Cannes but kept falling asleep. That was pretty hilarious. Another scene that managed to captured my heart was when Mr Bean lost his bus ticket and then tried to run after the ticket, which was stuck on a foot of a runaway chicken. The soundtrack of the movie I reckon was fantastic as well. Overall, I think it deserve 4 stars out of 5 :)

Egg-O-Mania

Today is another one of those do-nothing day. Planning on how to spend our glorious Sunday, we went to Mandurah only to find ourselves trapped in a middle of a big autumn storm. But I do enjoy myself driving in heavy rain, escaping a few speed trap along the way.

We have lunch at one of our favourite restaurant in Mandurah, the Egg-O-Mania. If you like eggs or fancy a good omelette, this is the place to be! Our favourites are spicy Mexican omelette, Aussie steak omelette and Hawaiian omelette.

After a great lunch, there is nothing better than have a cup of home-brewed cuppuccino at home in a rainy day...well...a cup of tea or a cup of coffee in a tea cup..who cares :)

Just a great way to come back to work!

Today was my first day at work after my extra long Easter long weekend..and guess what..I am as sick as a dog. I am probably feeling like how the lion felt in the picture...just so sorry for myself. My wife has been brewing ginger drink for me for the past 2 nights to keep me going. I love the drink and I think we should open up a ginger beer brewery, seriously good stuff if not better than Bundeburg :)

I got my new Canon IS lens yesterday in city! It's a considerable upgrade from the kit lens which came bundled with my camera and I absolutely love it. I can't wait for the weekend so I can head out there to snap some shots.

End of Easter Break :(

God..where did the 4 days Easter Break go? Back to work again.. back to square one.. I got to make myself get a lotto ticket at last once a week! hehe! Today we went fishing at the Woodman Point Jetty again. Same as usual, tons of people there..and we didn't catch nothing again! yes.. again! All the fish must have learnt from their previous demised comrades! But it was a fun day, we ended up going to my brother's house for dinner and the noodle was yummy! Thanks Adriana :)

Wanna share a picture with you which I took at King's Park. This panaromic photo of Perth consists of 3 individual photos taken at ISO 200 at f/22 and 30 seconds exposure. It was my first few attempts at night photography. More photos can be found at Flickr.

More Pictures at Zoo

I took nearly 500 shots in the zoo although I felt like I took a lot more then that. I like the picture of the Kukubara, it's an amazing looking bird.

I don't mind to go again and take more photos once I get my new Canon IS lens. It's pretty hard to take good steady shots with a 300mm non-IS zoom lens.

Easter Saturday

Today was another lazy day. I played pc game until nearly 4am this morning! Haven't done that since my uni days..hell..it was fun :) We went to Perth Zoo late in the morning...and it's a bit embarassing to admit but this was my first time there :P Although it's not as big as I hope for but it's good enough for a 4 hours afternoon stroll :)

This photo of a tiger was taken through a steel mesh fence, the mesh was so out of focus that you can hardly spot it in the photo :)

Good Friday in Freo

After a wake up call from my brother, we went out together to Frementle for fish n'chip. You won't believe how long the queue was at Cicerella...people were lining out the door! We were served with bite size fish and squid while waiting outside. It was a fun day out with my brother's family.

After that me and Jin went wondering around E-shed and got ourselves a small antique corner table :) ...at the same time, I took some shots again... never go anywhere without my Canon :)

There were lots of people at Woodman Point Jetty trying their luck with fishing rods. A quick peep in their buckets will quickly explain their disappointing face :) We are going there to fish this coming Sunday...if we catch some... I will post again here :)

Just one more day...just one more day and I will have 5 days break! Can't wait for that! Today one of my regular gave me 2 big bars of chocholate...my mission...finish them all during the Easter break :P We have not much planned but I guess it's best to stay away from road...bet lots of idiots will be out there!

This photo was taken at King's Park just before sunset.

Kimchi!

Jin just finished making the kimchi...god the whole house *stinks*... can't breathe... I am sure it will taste marvellous but just the smell... hymm... Hey velocity boy! Wanna come over and smell? hehe!

A busy day today

Today at work was very busy. First day of the month in the pharmacy is always busy...orders after orders after orders...I need a break! 3 days to go...THREE more days before Easter long weekend! hoohoo! Not that I have much planned but I think we are just going to take it easy and not doing much (not that I do much usually :P) I still have one more shelf to finish off for our pot plants and herbs. Dinner tonight, we have pork belly BBQ...of course...Korean style with chillie bean paste and lettuce...FAT FAT!! Jin is making some Kimchi tonight...I can't wait...I love Kimchi with rice...

Kimchi is traditionally prepared by Korean people in late Autumn or early Winter where there is still abundant of fresh vegetable supply. Then they are stored in giant urns buried underground to preserve them for Winter use. In Korea, Kimchi is a very common side dish for anything :) There is also Kimchi burger, Kimchi pancake, Kimchi pizza, Kimchi dumplings...and heaps more!

This is a bunch of dead branches which I took in King's Park...I thought it was interesting...I love to take close up pictures of everything...Kim Tie..my pharmacy student at work think I am crazy :)

My Backyard!

It's getting late, I have posted quite a few posts during my first day at this blogger, so i think it's time to call it a day. I want to show you couple of photos which I really like..of course heavily retouched in Photoshop.

This is our backyard, you can check out the rest of our nest at my webpage :) The water pump for the well is no longer working because the wire was cut by Jin when she was pruning the flowers! hehe! Now the outdoor power outlet is used to power Jin's power tools for her woodworking hobby. We actually made couple of pieces of furniture for ourselves! Our first piece, a hall table console is truely a "master" piece I think :) Although it probably costs more than what we would like, but hell, it's unique!!

Now the photo below will be our dream backyard! This was taken near the Serpentine Fall which I went couple days ago. It's mesmerizing by just looking at it! If you want it as your desktop wallpaper, let me know ok? :) Ok..time to get back to my computer game.

See you in my next post/advanture!

I have also posted quite a number of pictures at Flickr...please check them out if you are interested and please don't forget to drop me a few comments there too!

Snap Snap!

Since I bought my Canon 400D late last Spring 2006, I have been taking pictures like crazy. So far my DSLR has done nearly 3000 clicks. I am still saving up for a better lens, unlike my "rich" friend who has just got himself a nice nikorr lens. Hey guys! if you have a spare Canon IS 17-85mm USM lens want to sell, please let me know ok!! :) Guess what is in the photo on the right which I took in King's Park last week! Autumn is a rather interesting period to
head to bush to take a few snaps.
This picture was taken today at Mundaring near the pizza shop. It's a sign of Autumn! I love this tree!

Mundaring Pizza - best in the world!

We drove all the way to Mundaring this evening just for our favourite pizza place. Hey guys...if you haven't been there, you haven't eaten pizza in your life yet! 7125 Great Eastern Hwy...go there and you will know what I mean. This place means business, so if you want to go, go early because you won't be getting a seat otherwise, unless you want to eat your pizza standing :) Oh, these guys don't open Tues. We were pigs today, we ordered "family" size pizza :P

5 years together!

2/4/07 marks 5 years me and Jin has been together! Time really does fly and I reckon the older one gets, the fast time flies.. I am worry!! :(

This is the first time I use the google blogger after Wayne sent me his blogger address. Previously I used to use msn my space but I think it's not as flexible as this one. I have more info and photos posted here!

Today is a lazy day for us, we went to city after lunch because Jin wanted to exchange one of her garment which she bought yesterday. Then we strolled around city and ended up in No.44 King Street cafe and had a nice banana cheese cake there. If you happen to drop by, please do your taste buds a favour, get the cheezzz cake... you won't regret it!
